Jacqui McLaren is an ABC TV Weather Presenter, Voice-over Artist, Journalist, Producer, Director, Writer, Performer, and Singer—fusing artistry and storytelling across every medium she touches.
Her love for performance began in childhood—reciting poetry and learning phonetics through years of Speech and Drama training. That early spark led her to the prestigious Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where she found her voice both literally and artistically.
Jacqui’s stage career took her around the country and abroad, with a standout performance as Mimi Marquez in RENT at the Brisbane Powerhouse, described as:
“Thrilling, harrowing, menacing and time stopped. I would like to take a moment to thank Mclaren...for this”
She went on to perform in acclaimed roles such as Wendla in Spring Awakening, before evolving her storytelling craft for the screen and studio.
Today, Jacqui is one of ABC Queensland’s weather presenters in the 7pm news bulletin. She’s also a sought-after voice-over artist, lending her voice to campaigns for NOVA 106.9, Coles Radio, Griffith University, Stockland and the Australian Government.
Alongside her on-air work, she’s the founder of McLaren Creative - a boutique media company specialising in high-impact storytelling across commercial, film, and television. She’s currently completing her Master of Communications (Digital Media & Journalism), and still moonlights as a wedding singer on weekends.
With one foot in the arts and the other in Journalism, film, television and production, Jacqui’s work bridges entertainment and information - crafting stories that resonate and reach.
At the end of the day, she’s simply a storyteller.
